Terms
Effective October 19, 2026
Arbitheon (arbitheon.com, .net and .org) is run by Systemology, Inc., doing business as Incavata (“we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to these terms and to our privacy page.
Who Can Use It
- Anyone 13 or older can make maps.
- Beta reading is for readers 18 or older. You confirm it by ticking the beta reading box on your account or, if you were invited, when you first open a window. Windows that take sign-ups fill first come, first served, and the author may also add readers himself.
- To buy a paid level you must be 13 or older; if you’re under 18, have a parent or guardian’s okay first.
Your Account
You sign in with Google, with Discord, or with an email address and a password. Keep that sign-in secure; what happens under your account is your responsibility. One account per person, and don’t share it. You can delete your account at any time from your account page.
Beta Reading
Some beta reading windows take sign-ups and some are by invitation; Beta reading explains how they work. The chapters, pictures and questions in a window are unpublished work, shared with you in confidence.
- Keep it to yourself. Don’t copy, post, share or quote the work outside the beta reading window, and don’t let anyone else read it through your account. This holds until the work is published, and for good for anything left out of the published book.
- Your feedback. You give us a permanent, worldwide, royalty-free right to use your comments, answers and suggestions however we like, including changing the work because of them, with no credit or payment owed. Your words stay yours, and once the book is published you are free to say what you thought of it.
- Rewards. Finishing a beta reading may earn a credit toward a paid map level. A credit has no cash value, can’t be transferred, and expires as stated when you earn it. No reward is ever tied to a review.
- We can open, change, close or end a beta reading window, and change its roster of readers, at any time.
Maps You Make
Maps you make with Carvographer are yours to use as set out below. We claim nothing in them beyond what we need to make, store and deliver them to you, and we won’t show your maps to anyone else without your permission.
- Every level: personal use: your own games, stories and posts, shared with anyone, as long as nothing about them earns money or promotes a business.
- Paid levels: commercial use in your own work, such as a book, module, game or crowdfunding campaign. That right stays with every map you made while on a paid level, after the subscription ends. We will have it categorized for you on your map account page. Commercial use means anything sold, and anything free that earns money or draws business: a giveaway on a creator’s or a store’s site, a sample to win sign-ups, or a page with ads, sponsors or a tip jar.
- Our house styles. The styles we made for Coel, Momentous and The Apotheotic Epochs are for personal use and fan work only, at every level. Maps in them may never be used commercially.
- Our world. Coel, its places, peoples and names remain ours. A map of Coel, in any style, is fan work: fine to make and share, not to sell.
- Not allowed at any level: selling or giving away maps as a pack, collection or stock art, whether on their own or as the main thing for sale. Maps produced by Carvographer may be included in a larger work used commercially only as a small part of it, and only if they were made with commercial rights.
Saved maps stay downloadable after a paid level ends.
Paid Levels
Paid levels aren’t open yet. When they are, their prices, billing and cancellation will be set out here and at checkout.
Refunds are at our discretion, case by case: write to us. A refund may end the paid level, and with it the maps made in the time it covers.
If you dispute a payment or have it reversed, your account is no longer in good standing: the paid level ends, every map made in the time that payment covered is deleted, and the account is closed.
Using the Site
Don’t:
- break the law, or use the site to harass anyone;
- attempt to access accounts, data or systems that aren’t yours, or disrupt the site;
- script, scrape or automate the site, or work around its limits on maps and requests.
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
What’s Ours
The site, Carvographer and its styles and symbols, the books, and the world of Coel are ours. The Apotheotic Epochs, Coel and Momentous are trademarks of Incavata. These terms give you the rights stated above and no others.
We send list mail only to addresses that confirmed they want it. If you have an account, we also send the emails strictly needed for the site to work, such as a notification when a map is ready.
No Guarantees
The site and everything on it are provided as they are. We work to keep it running and your work safe, but we don’t promise it will always be available or free of errors, or that saved maps and data can never be lost. Keep copies of anything that matters to you.
Limits on Our Liability
As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits or lost data, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it, or $50, whichever is more.
If your breaking these terms leads to a claim against us, you are responsible for it.
Ending
You can stop using the site and delete your account at any time. We can close an account that breaks these terms, or close the site with notice. Beta confidentiality, the rights you gave us in your feedback, and the commercial rights you earned for your maps all continue after an account closes.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Hampshire, and any dispute goes to the state or federal courts there. Nothing here takes away rights that the law where you live gives you and won’t let a contract remove.
Changes
When these terms change, the date at the top changes with it. If a change matters, we will email account holders before it takes effect. Using the site after that means you accept the new terms.
